New Plugin: Email Text Customizer for WooCommerce

Email Text Customizer for WooCommerce is a simple WordPress plugin allowing you to customize the text of all WooCommerce emails without having to delve into template code.

Why Email Text Customizer?

I’ve been working with several clients recently who run popular online stores powered by WooCommerce. In all three cases, the site owners wanted to edit the text of the various WooCommerce emails.  Annoyingly, this has to be done for them by editing the Woo templates.  Of course as a developer I could do that… but it occurred to me that this would make a simple and effective plugin.

I looked for a plugin that allows a non-developer site owner to customise Woo emails and found nothing very helpful in that space. That is, until this clever solution by Patrick Rauland caught my eye. Patrick suggests utilising Say What? plugin to replace translatable strings. Nifty!  Inspired by Patrick’s post, I decided to create a Woo-specific plugin that uses a similar method to extract the relevant strings from WooCommerce email templates and provide a friendly input field within the context of the rest of the WooCommerce email settings.

  2. Hi,

Just used this on a project for a customer. It surprises me that is is not a standard feature of Woocommerce!!

Thank you for making this available. If you ever pass through the mountains between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, lunch is on me!

  3. I left a review in the WP plugin repository – just wanted to repeat here that I am happy with the plugin and say thank you.

Excellent – After reading about language strings and changing template files, this is a much better solution that keeps everything clean.

This should be in every list of sensible must-have plugins for Woo.
